Thompson Tennis Court Cleaning Before and After
Tennis Court Cleaning – Basketball Court Cleaning New Jersey
With the proper equipment tennis court cleaning is not such a daunting task. The thin top layer of a tennis court should certainly not be cleaned with high pressure water. It can cause expensive irreparable damage. Neglecting a tennis court can also promote mold and mildew build up. A darkened and moldy tennis court surface can absorb heat and cause expansion of the surface. Cracks, splits, and an overall deteriorating atmosphere of the surface is the result.
There is nothing more gratifying than to see a moldy tennis court or basketball court brought back to life. And although it takes a bit of elbow grease to get through it, to see the vibrant colors come through promotes happy and healthy playing conditions for its users.
Comparatively pressure washing a tennis court with water alone would simply blow live mold spores everywhere. Power washing can also create damage to the surface if the water pressure is not calibrated properly. A professional tennis court cleaner knows the correct mixtures of disinfecting chemicals and the proper surfactants to achieve the proper level of clean for this particular surface material.

We Don’t Just Remove Stains, We Eradicate Them!
Since most of what is causing the stains is organic it is best to approach the stain more like “pest control”. If your not aiming for a 100% kill ratio on the stain causing organisms the spores can quickly regenerate rather quickly. To properly clean a tennis or basketball court a disinfecting detergent including bleach would work best. With a 1% – 3% bleach soap solution, it would be best to work in sections.
It is counterproductive to allow the detergent to dry so dividing the areas into quadrants might work best. If it is really hot, you may want to divide the sections even smaller. A bleach or chlorinated detergent with kill and soften the mold and mildew. This allows the stains to be lifted with far less water pressure. The area will be clean with a kill ratio of closer to 100%. This will insure the surface to get cleaner and stay clean for a longer period of time.

Faded/Oxidized Tennis Courts
Just as courts get moldy, they also oxidize. They simply fade from the sun. This is something that could make restoration difficult although the appearance can be improved along with fully sanitized.
